Formal Educational Offerings
School Field Trips
AMOS offers both in-house and outreach field trips for K-7 grade. We offer 8 formal programs aligned with North Carolina state standards. If you are interested in scheduling your class or want to learn more please visit our For Educators page.

Chaperones/Ratio: (please bullet these out)
- During field trips teachers are considered chaperones.
- Pre-K through 5th grade students must be accompanied by a minimum of 1 adult for every 5 students and a maximum of 1 adult for every 3 students.
- 6th through 12th grade students must be accompanied by 1 adult for every 10 students.
- Adults in excess of the ratio, not included in pre-registration, will be subject to full admission costs upon arrival.
On the 3rd Thursday of every month we ask a scientist to come-in and run two classes on a topic of their expertise. These are open to the Homeschool community, and require a registration. Classes will run from 1:30-2:20 and 2:30-3:20, each class will have 20 open spots. If you are interested in learning more please visit our For Kids page.
Informal Educational Offerings
Little Explorers Club
On the 2nd & 4th Friday of every month our education staff hosts a morning of guided exploration for 3-5 year-olds and their caregivers! Preschoolers and caregivers will have exclusive access to AMOS from 9-9:45 am for guided activities, free play, and exploration! If you are interested in learning more please visit our For Kids page. Beginning February 10th, we kindly ask all participants to reserve your space before hand. Click here to reserve your pre-schoolers place for February 10th.
Saturday Morning Science
What better way to spend a Saturday with your kiddos than discovering how fun science can be? Join our staff for family-friendly activities on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. These events are INCLUDED with admission or AMOS membership. These events are drop-in between 10am-12pm. If you are interested in learning more please visit our For Kids page.
STEM Lab Hours
Join us on Saturdays from 1-3pm for educator led activities in our STEM Lab. Build circuits, explore geology, master the Engineering Challenge, and a whole lot more!
