Summer of Science | COVID-19 Panel Discussion

Join us at 7:00PM on Facebook Live for a Virtual Summer of Science event on COVID-19 to provide science, prospective, and learning opportunities through a unique panel discussion.

Discussion will be lead by Rachael Sparks, AMOS Board President will lead the discussion where panelist cover the science as presently understood while giving a community, public health, and economic perspective.

Panelist include:

· Dr. William Hathaway, Chief Medical Officer for HCA Healthcare and the head of the COVID-19 response team for Western North Carolina,

· Dr. Sarah Simmons, an epidemiologist and Senior Director of Science with Xenex Disinfection Services, a company that specializes in preventing the spread of COVID-19,

· Dr. Dara Bushman, a clinical psychologist and a survivor of COVID-19, who can talk personally about battling this virus and the mental health impacts associated with it, and

· Dr. Kent Williamson, a vascular surgeon for Mission Health with first-hand experience treating COVID-19 patients.

AMOS Summer of Science is a series of talk-show format episodes that bring scientists and science enthusiasts together for interesting and challenging topics surrounding Science, Technology, Engineering and Math while giving the community a fun way to support AMOS while remained closed to the public.
