Ask a Scientist – Using genetics to improve public health and save animals

Jocelyn Colella is a postdoc at the University of New Hampshire and the incoming Curator of Mammals at the University of Kansas Biodiversity Institute. Her research focuses on mammalian genetics, addressing questions ranging from Arctic species diversity to desert adaptation. She is an avid outdoorswoman, swimmer, animal-lover, and conservationist.
