SUMMARY:STEAM Lab: Making Do
DESCRIPTION:This summer the STEAM Lab is chock full of projects\, experiments\, and open-ended activities that challenge us to make and do with recyclables\, everyday familiar objects\, and what we would normally consider “scrap” materials.  \nExplore how scientists\, engineers\, artists\, and everyday community members reduce\, reuse\, and “upcycle” in their work and daily lives. Help us make a community tapestry with binary code\, carefully construct your own scale model\, invent a new toy\, take risks\, or even turn the STEAM Lab into a recycling center!  \nThese activities will run all month long and will get better and more ambitious as kids and adults work together to build miraculous things!  \nSTEAM Lab is open during regular AMOS operating hours pending any special closures. Facilitated experiences occur on Saturdays with AMOS Educators. For more information on STEAM Lab programming call our Front Desk at 828-254-7162.

SUMMARY:STEAM Lab: Curiosity's Birthday!
DESCRIPTION:Join AMOS staff as we celebrate the August 5th birthday of the Curiosity Mars Rover! \nConduct your own Martian experiments using tools similar to what Curiosity uses in real life. Measure light using prisms and spectroscopes\, make your own floating lunar lander out of recycled materials\, find the perfect wheels for exploring the surface of Mars\, and search our sensory bins for rocks found on Mars. \nSTEAM Lab is open during regular AMOS operating hours pending any special closures. Facilitated experiences occur during “Educator on Duty” at 11am and 3pm unless otherwise noted. For more information on STEAM Lab programming call our Front Desk at 828-254-7162.

SUMMARY:Summer Science Camp - Week 7
DESCRIPTION:The discovery that happens at AMOS camps makes concrete\, measurable contributions to student success\, not only in the classroom environment\, but in broader measures of youth development\, maturity\, and career success. Each week is filled with expert-designed STEAM programming to contribute to our campers’ interest in and understanding of concepts ranging from exploring our natural world. \nWeek 7 – The Art of Science for grades K-2 and for grades 3-5\nWelcome to The Art of Science\, the ultimate fusion of science and art! Get ready for a week filled with exploration and creativity as we dive into the wonders of Astronomy\, Geology\, Chemistry\, Physics\, and Earth Science. Paint galaxies\, sculpt geological wonders\, and more! Campers will don their lab coats and goggles to unleash their inner scientists\, conducting exciting experiments that spark their curiosity and ignite their passion for discovery! Whether it’s creating a celestial masterpiece or molding the mysteries of Earth\, we’ll use their artistic talents to express the marvels of the scientific world. Expect a week filled with laughter\, learning\, and limitless imagination as we transform ideas into tangible creations. Join us for The Art of Science – where science meets art in the most thrilling and kid-friendly way possible!\n\n>>>Register for Week 7 Grades K-2>>>\n>>>Register for Week 7 Grades 3-5>>> \n>>>Register for Week 7 After Care>>> \n  \n
