Join us from 10am-12pm at the museum to learn about our new teen volunteer program: STEAM TEAM!
STEAM TEAM volunteers will primarily gain experience in teaching/education (summer camps and general museum education in the summer and general museum education and/or field trip programming during the school year), but will also gain skills in communication, leadership, time management, exhibits, and general non-profit and museum operations. Weekday and weekend opportunities are available and we are willing to work with school programs to help students use volunteer hours to fulfill any relevant school requirements.
Applicants to the program aren’t required to have a strong background with science or have a minimum grade point average, but they are required to submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or community member, commit to a schedule (within reason), bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn and be of service, and be willing to follow program protocols.
Applicants and anyone interested in applying to the program in the future are welcome to attend this orientation session.
