Emory is a Master’s student in the Department of Biology at East Carolina University, where she researches salt marsh and oyster restoration, and specifically the ways such restoration can provide storm protection or prevent erosion. Born in Boston, Emory’s work has taken her to Washington DC, Alabama, North Carolina, and Alaska. She’s grateful to live in a state with so many beautiful and interesting coastal habitats where she can research and kayak. Emory graduated from Georgetown University in 2015 with a B.A. in Government.
