AMOS for Homeschool and Unschoolers
Are you a home-school educator?
AMOS has you and your 3-13 year old covered.
For the littlest of STEM learners, AMOS offers our signature Little Explorers Club. Join the Little Explorers Club and explore the Asheville Museum of Science with your 3-5 year old during our exclusive preschool STEAM (SCIENCE, TOOLS, ENGINEERING, ARTS, MATH) time (9AM to 10AM), the first and third Friday of each month. Each L.E.C. program begins with a focus on literacy or story time, followed by an age appropriate experiment, craft or engineering challenge. Then, before we open to the general public, it’s time to play in the exhibit hall with fellow explorers during our exclusive Little Explorers Club time!
Perfect for elementary aged learners, our signature Semester of Science at AMOS is a four class series that meets for an hour and a half every month (Wednesdays in Spring). We will cover all the basics in this four part series. Learn how to identify night constellations after entering our blow up planetarium. Discover what rocks are made of and how crystals grow. Understand the world of matter and energy by tinkering with sound and light. Then get your maker skills on in our signature engineering lessons for the young inventor in your family! Spots are limited to 10 participants per semester to keep a small teacher to student ratio.
The Spring 2019 semester has ended. Learn about other events on our Events Calendar!
Four the more mature learner in your family AMOS offers exclusive STEM workshops on Saturdays once a month. Learn game design, 3D animation, 3D modeling and printing, Soldering and basic electronics and more. Please check our monthly Events Calendar for the next STEM workshop.
Does teaching STEM to your 3-13 year old make you nervous? AMOS can help. We offer professional development workshops just for educators. Check our Events Calendar for more information.
