As part of the Visitor Experiences team, Carissa can be found at the museum’s front desk, managing the museum store, and updating the museum’s digital platforms. She recently completed a Masters in Library and Information Science from Pratt Institute, which expanded her interest in providing broad access to information and sparking curiosity.
Past positions have included roles in museums such as the New York Transit Museum and the Frick Collection as well as marketing, retail and merchandise management in for-profit and benefit corporations. Previously, she studied the confluence of art, books, history, and technology at the University of Georgia, where she earned a BFA in Printmaking and Book Arts and a BA in English, emphasizing Humanities Computing.
Carissa moved to Asheville in July 2018, and she is excited to become part of a community that integrates artistic creativity and scientific curiosity.
