Join AMOS and The Collider as the co-host the March edition of our AMOS Science Pub. Dan Lazar, former Executive Director of The Colburn, will present “The Southern Appalachians During the Ice Age”. During the presentation Dan will discuss the animals and plants that were found in this region twenty thousand years ago, during the most recent glacial maximum. He will present evidence suggesting the former occurrence of now-extinct species such as Jefferson’s Ground Sloth and the American Mastodon. Also included will be images of ice-age species still surviving in our Southern Mountains.
Doors to The Collider open at 5:30pm and the presentation begins at 6:30pm. Come in, grab a beverage courtesy of Asheville Brewing Alliance, munch on some light bites, and settle in for a free night of science and beer!
